The SLO County Board of Supervisors serves as the County’s legislative body, setting policies and priorities to best serve the needs of the community. The 5 members of the Board are elected by districts of approximately equal population to overlapping four-year terms.
It is vital that we have folks who represent our values attending meetings and making public comments to reflect what we want to see from our county’s governance.
The August 19th meeting is really important to attend because there will be a voting item on the agenda to designate SLO County as a Sanctuary for immigrants. More details to come when the agenda is published. MAGA will be out in force to speak against this item. We need to make our voices heard and demand SLO County protect our immigrant communities!
Visit the Board’s website to learn more about the Board as a whole & our South County Reps (Dawn Ortiz-Legg, District 3 & Jimmy Paudling, District 4). Jimmy Paulding is running for re-election in 2026 & we will need ALL hands on deck to help his campaign. His is the swing seat on the Board, so we need to make sure we preserve our 3-2 majority on the Board.
Meeting agendas & minutes are available online.
