The SLO County Board of Supervisors serves as the County’s legislative body, setting policies and priorities to best serve the needs of the community. The 5 members of the Board are elected by districts of approximately equal population to overlapping four-year terms.

It is vital that we have folks who represent our values attending meetings and making public comments to reflect what we want to see from our county’s governance.

The August 19th meeting is really important to attend because there will be a voting item on the agenda to designate SLO County as a Sanctuary for immigrants. More details to come when the agenda is published. MAGA will be out in force to speak against this item. We need to make our voices heard and demand SLO County protect our immigrant communities!

Jimmy Paulding is running for re-election in 2026 & we will need ALL hands on deck to help his campaign. Protesting on August 1st, the community unites to show all of America that "America's" people are marching in solidarity with the immigrants that truly keep the United States working. The goal of this protest is to demonstrate support for immigrants who are being tormented by our current administration. Our march will show the administration and the people of America that immigrants are heroes in our communities and not villains like the media makes them out to be. Our culture is deeply rooted in America's history, and we are not leaving or going to be thrown out. Our county must come together to show all targeted minorities that they are not alone.

Jimmy has formally announced that he's officially running for re-election as our District 4 Supervisor.

Two weeks ago, we rallied. On Friday, 5/16, the Board released their agenda for this Tuesday's meeting and the "Resolution" proposed by Shannon Kessler of Harvest Church is on the agenda (#27). It is a discussion only, non-voting item, but Trustee Mike Fuller will be pressuring our Board to vote on this and we need you to SHOW UP. This Tuesday, 5/20, come at 8 p.m. to give public comment on item #27, the anti-trans resolution. Please prepare a 1 min public comment supporting trans youth and opposing this resolution.
